Name: Javelina or Collared Peccary
Size: Javelinas are about 19 inches tall and weigh 40-60 pounds.
Habitat: They are common in central and southern Arizona and often inhabit the outlying areas of cities. They often travel in herds of 2-20 individuals.
Prey: Javelinas are vegetarians and often eat cacti, bulbs, tubers, beans, seeds, succulent plants, insects, garbage and grubs.
